Shuttle bus to be provided for Miss SVG show
A shuttle bus will be provided to transport patrons attending the Miss SVG show this Saturday evening, from the Anglican Car Park at North River Road to the main entrance at the Victoria Park.{{more}}
Chairman of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) Dennis Ambrose stated that the shuttle bus will depart from the Charles Verbeke Centre. Ambrose also encouraged the public to purchase their tickets for the show as soon as possible to ease the congestion at the main entrance on Saturday night.
This arrangement has become necessary because the bridge at the North River, which provides access to the Victoria Park from the North River road area is being repaired.
Ambrose was speaking at the CDCâs press conference on Monday, May 23rd, 2011, at the CDCâs conference room.
Further stating that Miss SVG will be a night to remember, Ambrose added that due to feedback received from the public, he knows that they are satisfied with the nine contestants who will vie for the Miss SVG Title. He stated that World Calypso Queen, Calypso Rose, will also be featured at the event.
Ambrose, commenting on the Carnival activities thus far, stated that they were successful and well received by the public. He congratulated the winners of the Ragga Soca, Soca and New Song Competitions which took place during Carnivalâs Official Launch on Saturday, May 7, 2011, a t the Solidarity Inc. Car Park.
Remarks were also heard from Noel Jackson of the Solidarity Inc., Warren Knights of the Youlou Pan Movement, Miss SVG 2010 Afesha Matthews and the nine contestants who will be taking part in the show this Saturday. Noel Jackson also presented a token of $5,000 to Warren Knights of the Youlou Pan Movement.(OS)
