Jane is Courts Mother of the Year

Mother of five Jane Sargeant is Furniture and Appliance Giants Courts Mother of the Year in the concluded Mother’s Day promotional campaign dubbed “Something special just for Mom”.{{more}}

During the campaign, customers who spent $299 or more and are mothers were eligible for nomination by their children, while customers who were not mothers were asked to nominate their Moms.

The Redemption Sharpes mother got the judges’ nod after they read an essay written by her 12-year-old son Chevambo who was asked to nominate his mom for the award.

In his essay, the student of the Lodge Village Government School called his mother his hero for her selfless love for her family and for others, calling her a great chef, poet, and actress.

He documented that just over a year ago, after the tragic earthquake in Haiti, she donated half of her last $75 to the Haiti relief charity.

Sargeant, who revealed that she has been shopping at Courts for a very long time, said that she was very excited to receive the accolade, after her purchase of a chest of draws a few weeks ago.

“I was really, really happy when I got the news. I was jumping and screaming and calling everyone.

“Almost everything in my home is from Courts, so I want to encourage customers to keep shopping at Courts and for all others to start shopping here,” said Sargeant, who indicated that she had a beautiful Mother’s Day on May 8, as her eldest son cooked for her, following which she went to the beach.

For being named the Courts Mother of the Year, Sargeant received a Blackberry Torch with one month’s free data compliments Digicel, a hair makeover compliments Suzanne’s Hair Studio, Beauty Care Gift baskets from Kismet and Acute Cosmetics, roses from Floranium Services, dinner for two at French Verandah in Villa, A $200 grocery voucher from C.K Greaves, $120 Spa Treatment from Oasis and two bottles of wine compliments Coreas Hazells Inc.

Courts’ Marketing Officer Alexis John said that the campaign’s focus was to “make moms feel really special with the help of our valued customers”.

He expressed gratitude to the customers who participated in the promotion, and said it gained huge response.
