This, as the schools holds its third annual father and son day at the school, on Thursday, May 19.
Principal of the school Anella Roban said that Thursdayâs event, which is unique to the school, will take the form of a conference, and will see Nathaniel Williams, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Guidance counselor in the Ministry of Education Edward Smith, as well as Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves in attendance.
Roban noted that those attending the conference will be engaged in a number of discussions, including roles fathers should play in the homes (spiritual and otherwise), managing finances, and discipline.
Roban said that the purpose of these father/ son conferences is in an effort to raise awareness on the male marginalization that is plaguing young men in our societies, who are commonly termed as âat riskâ.
She said that expectations for the upcoming conference are high and the students are looking forward to it. (JJ)
