At the “Talent Extravaganza” held on May 4 at the Faith Temple Church, as part of the centenary activities of the GHS, an electronic keyboard was handed over to the school by three GHS Toronto Alumnae.

Annette Alves Gibbs, Estelle Knights-Ishmael and Petrina Ballantyne Vanden Top, alumnae who reside in Canada, were in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to take part in the centenary celebrations.

The keyboard was donated in memory of the late Barbara Cuffy-Palmer, who was once president of the Toronto Alumnae. Donna Clarke, head of the Department of Co-curricula Activities at the School, said the Alumnae intended to donate other instruments, but on her advice, they decided to start with the keyboard.

The instrument was received by Andrea Bowman, Headmistress of the GHS.

Vanden Top also mentioned that the Toronto Alumnae are in the process of compiling an international cookbook as one of their centenary projects. She invited interested persons to submit recipes to the cookbook. More information is available on the GHS website – www.svghs.com.
