Police probing two after Euro 168,000 was allegedly found in luggage
Two individuals are now in custody after they allegedly tried to leave St. Vincent and the Grenadines with 168,000 Euros concealed in their luggage.{{more}}
A woman, believed to be of Latin Americn origin, and a Trinidadian man, were intercepted at the E.T. Joshua airport on Saturday evening, after the money was found in their luggage.
The couple had checked in on a LIAT flight, bound for Trinidad.
The two had an additional 4,000 Euros on their persons when they were apprehended.
The Financial Intelligence Unit is said to be investigating the matter.
Using the rate of Monday, May 9, 172,000 Euros is equivalent to approximately EC$666,000.
