‘Lawyer Boy’ says ‘PC Jumping’ all about IT
âPC Jumpingâ, a song released for Vincy Mas 2011, by lawyer/soca artiste Lyndon âLawyer Boyâ George, has been creating a stir.
In an interview with SEARCHLIGHT,{{more}} George, accompanied by producer Kamal Archibald, said they do not understand what the fuss is about, because the songâs storyline is about a young lady who had just received a personal computer from her boyfriend, but as soon as an instant message was sent to her, it started âjumping online then jumping offâ.
Of his critics, George said: âIn certain circles, they obviously have not listened to the song.â
âI am actually talking about a personal computer, which is having problems,â said George.
âThere is nothing lewd about the song; it is simply a song which gives a very funny version of what we can do, troubleshooting wise, when your personal computer is having that problem. I really want people to know that there is nothing more in it than that,â said George.
George said he wanted to remind persons that PC is an accepted abbreviation for the personal computer. He also touched on the issue of the word RAM which was used in the song. Again, he said that this is a term used in Information Technology circles for Random Access Memory.
He said the song, released in March, was cleverly written and has a nice melody to it. George added that his fans can look forward to another groovy ragga soca tune dubbed âYour Loveâ.
Archibald said he doesnât know if people have a problem with the abbreviation, but listening to a talk show recently on moral standards he heard âPC Jumpingâ being described as âlewdâ and ârudeâ and the song would only be aired in the night.
He added that every verse speaks of a personal computer and did not deviate from that.
George said he wants to get more young people to realise that there is humour and reward in his songs, which unlike others, do not âblurt out…one-dimensional songsâ with lewd lyrics, which fail to explore skill of double entendre.
