According to a release from the church, this decision was taken so that the students would spend the day engaged in prayer, praise and worship.
Divine intercession was made specifically for: all students across the country as they prepare for examinations of one kind or the other; students who are victims of abuse, low self-esteem and abandonment; all stakeholders of education, including Ministry of Education, parents/guardians, teachers, school constituency; the governance of our country; victims of recent disasters.
The dayâs activity included praise and worship, scripture reading and reflections, prayer, intercession and responses, testimonies, prayer chain, motivational enlightenment, consecration and recommitment to the ideals of christianity.
There are five Seventh-day Adventist schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, two secondary and three primary, with a total enrollment of approximately 850 students. This day of prayer coincided with the Constant in Prayer initiative of the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist church.
