Early Childhood Caregivers and Babysitters trained

Fifteen early childhood caregivers and 11 babysitters have completed 6 months and 3 months training, respectively, in Childcare and Development, at the Vinsave Child Development Training Centre.{{more}}

The students, who were trained in childcare and development, are from pre-schools and daycare centres throughout the Island. They are now placed at Child Care Centres and at Government Pre-School, where they will complete 3 months Internship, during which time they will be monitored by the Early Childhood Education Officers in the Ministry of Education, and Vinsave Field Officers. The students will also write the Regional Examination in Child Care and Development at a later stage.

The babysitters have completed 3 months of training at the Vinsave Centre, which included weekly attachments at Guest Houses/Hotels and restaurants. They, too, have been exposed to training in Childcare and Development and other related areas.

Vinsave continues to focus on the training and development of Early Childhood Development Caregivers to meet the needs of the “Young Child”
