CAO academic conference climaxes today

The four day academic conference of the Caribbean Association of Otolaryngologists (CAO) ends here today.{{more}}

The conference, which started Tuesday, April 26 at the Sunset Shores Conference Room was the organization’s 19th meeting of its members with the primary objective of bettering health care across the region.

Dr St Clair Thomas, this country’s Chief Medical Officer and an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist told SEARCHLIGHT that the sessions were expected to cover topics and bring updates to members on the latest in medical technology.

It also offers resident doctors involved in training programmes to present their findings.

Topics down for discussion during the four day conference included stimulation and the changing face of teaching otolaryngology; challenges in management of carotid artery aneurysms; cosmetic nasal surgery; managing clinical access and skull base surgery.

The Caribbean Association of Otolaryngology was established in 1993 and at present there are members representing all the English speaking countries, the Dutch Antilles, United Kingdom and the United States.(DD)
