On Tuesday, April 12, when contacted at his Mustique residence, Charles confirmed that he had indeed received an invitation to the wedding, which he has accepted.
âI think itâs a special occasion. I think one is happy to be invited to the wedding,â said Charles, the proprietor of the famed Basilâs Bar on Mustique.
The Daily Mail has stated that Carole and Michael Middleton, the millionaire parents of the bride to be, have become loyal patrons to Basilâs Bar, to such an extent they feel Charles is worthy of an invite to their daughterâs wedding. The newspaper added that over the years the Middletons have stayed in several villas on Mustique.
It further stated that William and Kate have visited Mustique almost a dozen times together and, like many visitors to the isle, had partied at Charlesâ establishment.
When asked if his invitation had come by way of the Middletons, Charles responded: âTwo people are going to get married. Both families have a right to invite different people.â
On Wednesday, April 6, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves confirmed that he and his wife Eloise had accepted an official invitation to attend the wedding.
Governor-General Sir Frederick Ballantyne and his wife Sally-Ann Lady Ballantyne are also expected to attend the special occasion.
SEARCHLIGHT has learnt that Roger Pritchard, Managing Director of the Mustique Company; Richard Scaffer, Resident Tennis Coach on Mustique; Liz Saint of the Equestrian Centre; and Greg Allen, a Mustique yoga teacher, were also invited to the wedding. (HN)
