Prime Minister Gonsalves made the disclosure during an exclusive interview with SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday, April 6.
Gonsalves said he and Sir James have been in contact about the Declaration, which was issued by the InterAction Council of Fomer Heads of State and Government, of which Sir James is a member.
He said to this end, he will have Ambassador Gonsalves take Sir James to other heads of delegation to address the issue.
âSir James and I are working on things affecting the country in the international arena and in relation to Agricultural diversification and in this case cocoa production, while the Opposition are on the street,â said Gonsalves.
âThe truth of the matter, the NDP leadership currently is involved in a kind of donkey logic. I canât follow it,â said the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, Gonsalves is of the view that the Opposition âmissed a major dayâ in Parliament when they boycotted Parliament on Tuesday, April 5.
He said that the Opposition missed the 13 Supplementary Appropriation Estimates and Bills.
Among them are the Status of Children Bill, which he said the Opposition had asked to put to Select Committee, and the Immunization Amendment Bill. He said the Opposition also missed the loan authorization from the CARICOM Development Fund for monies, which will be used on the Argyle International Airport project to purchase equipment for stone crushing and paving.
