When SEARCHLIGHT contacted Jordon on Tuesday, she was making her way to the airport.
She said that the family was looking to bury Ward next Tuesday, April 5, but that would depend on the amount of time it took for the release of the autopsy results.
âI was shocked; I was really surprised,â Jordon said.
The mother said that she had spoken to her daughter the night before she met her tragic death.
In fact, it was customary for Ward to call her family in Union Island, Jordon said.
âI donât know how to cope but I am trying to be strong,â the grieving mother said.
Marcia Jordon, sister of the deceased, says that she remembers her sister as being a fun person, one who always did her best to make others laugh.
She fought back the tears as she told SEARCHLIGHT about the trip that she (Marcia) was scheduled to take to visit Ward.
It had been a few years since Ward last visited St Vincent, Marcia explained.
âNow we have to go bury her,â she said.
According to the Nationâs Sunday Sun, Ward was out for an early morning walk when the vehicle driven by Jabari Clarke of Rices, St Philip, collided with the woman.
The paper also reported that the 38-year-old housekeeper at Crane Hotel and mother of two usually went for early morning walks and had only resumed the routine sometime last week. (DD)
