Sir Frederick handed a cheque with that amount of money to Manager of the HLDC Morris Slater Tuesday at Government House.

Sir Frederick pointed out that the cheque represented the proceeds of a fund-raising dinner which he held to raise funds for the victims of hurricane Tomas.

Sir Frederick said he was impressed by the way Slater and his team responded to the victims of that tragedy and that he hoped the financial donation will help them in their continued efforts to bring relief to the hurricane victims.

The Governor-General also thanked all the individuals and the firms which supported his fund-raising venture.

Meanwhile, the HLDC’s Manager expressed his gratitude to Sir Frederick for the donation, noting that it will go a long way towards putting some new galvanise on affected houses.

The handing over ceremony was also witnessed by Robert France, the Procurement Officer at the HLDC.
