The event, which was well received by patrons, took the form of a Cocktail, during which Toastmasters read pieces of poetry, while performers executed choreographed movements depicting the contents of each poem. Choreography for the poems and a dance routine by professional dancers was arranged by Ann-Marie Venner, while the performances were accompanied by drumming from David ‘Darkie’ Williams.

The pieces read were taken from the poetry collections of well known Vincentian and regional Poets and, significantly, from members of the Achievers Toastmasters Club.

The next activity on the agenda of the Toastmasters Clubs of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a Speech Contest to be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at the Institute of the Venezuelan Embassy, Murray’s Road, Kingstown, at 4:00 pm. The winner of this contest will represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Annual District 81 May Conference in Tortola, BVI, on May 20th – 23rd, 2011.
