70-year-old man rescued from house fire

A 70 year-old physically challenged man had a narrow escape after a fire completely destroyed a one-storey, three-bedroom house at Brighton on March 25, 2011.{{more}}

Claydon Myers was rescued in time before the fire engulfed the entire house.

A police press release stated that earlier in the day, fire was seen coming from an electrical pole that is connected directly to the house.

The contents of the house were also completely destroyed.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire which they say started about 7: 30 p.m.
