Sharon Morris-Cummings, in an update on Monday, March 7, confirmed that her husband had gone to Trinidad for the treatment of injuries sustained to his shoulder, back and foot.

Cummings, a member of the opposition New Democratic Party (NDP), left the country on Friday, March 4 and is a patient at the St Clair Medical Facility in Port-of-Spain.

It is alleged that the Parliamentary Representative’s foot was caught in the door leading from the chamber, after members of the Opposition were thrown out of the House.

Last Thursday, March 3, Morris-Cummings indicated in an interview with SEARCHLIGHT that she was making arrangements to have her husband taken out of the country.

“He has always had back problems,” Morris-Cummings disclosed.

“I have never seen anything like this,” she continued, adding that nowhere in the world had there been a situation where Parliamentarians were treated in that manner.

Morris-Cummings subsequently said that she was contemplating taking legal action.

“All the thugs that they got to throw him (Daniel Cummings) out, they will feel the full force of the law.”

“I wouldn’t be a thug and a vagabond, I will use the law to get true justice for this country,” Morris-Cummings said. (DD)
