Alexander made headlines last December when Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace called for his removal, saying that records showed that funds allocated to the Agriculture Diversification Project had been used to purchase items from CARDAP Investment Limited, a company owned by Alexander.

Alexander was appointed Permanent Secretary on February 2, 2009.

Nathaniel Williams, former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Information, Public Service, and Ecclesiastical Affairs, was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Rural Transformation earlier this year when the new ministerial portfolios were established following the December 13, 2010, general elections.

Invest SVG is the agency responsible for attracting investment to the country in all economic sectors, but with a special emphasis on hotel development, light manufacturing and agro-processing.

The Executive Director of Invest SVG is Cleo Jones-Huggins.
