Petit St Vincent Resort to be upgraded

Petit St. Vincent Resort is now under new ownership and has finalized plans for upgrades to the property.{{more}}

According to hotelinteractive.com, new owners Robin Paterson and Phil Stephenson, after spending time over the past month on the resort, used their experience on the island and feedback from staff and customers to devise a customized renovation plan for the resort.

At the heart of the renovation is the promise to keep the ‘fundamental nature’ of PSV intact. Its natural beauty, peace and quiet, privacy and discretion and friendly, non-intrusive service will not change and PSV will continue to be a privately owned hideaway.

Elements of the renovation program will include: PSV will not close between May to November 2011 as originally planned. Instead the resort will only close as usual in September and October; A casual, a la carte restaurant on the beach will be added, to be open from 11-5pm daily, serving light lunches, snacks and cocktails; The addition of an air-conditioned fitness and yoga centre; The addition of an open-air spa; An air-conditioned library with TV, DVD and Internet for all guests to enjoy at leisure will be added; A children’s treehouse will be added; a special place, away from the adults, for the kids’ programs; Landscaping that preserves the natural, wild beauty of the island while adding more colorful flowering plans and lights at night; New activities desk where guests are given the opportunity to take part in various sports and programs, from hiking, water sports and tennis to sailing, art classes and wine tasting.

The website said, overall, it is Robin and Phil’s aim to “create an enduring place of beauty and harmony away from the crowds and noise of modern civilization, and built on the mutual respect already apparent between those who inhabit the island for whatever period of time they choose to visit.”

PSV will also now be available for exclusive rental throughout the year, subject to availability. The ultimate venue for a secluded retreat with friends, family gatherings or a truly memorable celebration, guests can opt to take over the entire property for their very own private island experience. Bookings must be made in advance.

New rates will be issued for winter 2011 by the end of January 2011.

PSV resort was previously owned by the late Haze Richardson and his wife Lynn.
