Courts fulfills corporate responsibility in 2010

Marketing Officer of Furniture and Appliance giant Alexis John says that his company has exceeded expectations when it comes to fulfilling their corporate responsibility.{{more}}

John said that despite tough economic times, the company has played its part in making the lives of Vincentians more comfortable, through its numerous promotions and its public relations initiatives, where a number individuals and organizations benefited.

“We have done our part in taking some of the pressures off of not only our customers but also society in general. It has been part of our mandate to give back as much as possible and where ever possible to the persons who deserve it.”

John indicated that over the past year (2010), Courts has held over 24 different promotions, which were designed to meet the needs of its customers in many ways. Customers enjoyed huge savings on their purchases, as well as loads of rewards.

Some of the promotional campaigns that were developed in 2010 include the just concluded “All I Want For Christmas Is At Courts”, where for six weeks, 18 shoppers took home cash and groceries; the Carnival themed Ragga Ragga Courts where customers were allowed to win their purchases FREE, and the big Trade in and Save promotion.

“We did our part in being helpful to others when asked,” John noted.

“After Hurricane Tomas, Courts and employees stepped up and contributed to various organizations and families in need.”

This contribution included a number of appliances, which were to be used at the various shelters, then handed over to a number of schools.

During the Christmas season, 18 less fortunate families and individuals were beneficiaries of food baskets from Courts as part of its Dare to Care initiative.

Courts was involved in a number of very important projects geared towards improving primary school students’ literacy skills and enhancing our tourism product, including the Courts OECS Reading competition, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and various other sponsors, and Vincy Flavours, a premiere culinary arts exhibition in conjunction with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel and Tourism Association.

Courts also hosted several competitions of its own.

During the FIFA 2010 World Cup, which was held in South Africa, the company brought the excitement to its Kingstown store with a PS3 Soccer Challenge in which fans played for a Sony 32 inch LCD TV.

A bake and pastry competition was also staged as part of its Sweet Deals promotion.

John said: “it will definitely get better and bigger. Count on us to move with the market trends. We are here to serve you. As a result, expect us to stimulate, facilitate and satisfy your demands or requirements.”

He used to opportunity to thank all customers for their patronage in 2010 and wish them a prosperous 2011.
