Last Thursday, December 23, members of staff of the Ministry handed over a cheque valued at $300 to the St. Benedictâs Day Nursery and Childrenâs Home.
Sister Nyra-Anne Pajotte, who has worked at the childrenâs home for the past eight years, received the timely sum and expressed her gratitude for the donation.
âEvery cent counts,â she affirmed. âWe are very grateful to have this contribution!â
Sister Pajotte said that the 40-year-old childrenâs home, which currently houses five children, is in dire need of repair.
âWeâve stopped admitting because of the condition of the home,â she explained.
Sister Pajotte added that she was also appreciative to the Government and Mustique Company.
Both made donations to the Georgetown-based childrenâs home after it suffered structural damage during the passage of Hurricane Tomas in October.(JV)
