Thomas, a shopkeeper of Akers, collected her prize, a Toyota Harrier, at the Central Police Station on Tuesday, December 21, 2010.

Thomas said that she felt great about winning the vehicle. She added that she bought two books of raffle tickets to support the Police Sports Club.

The raffle was held to raise funds for the club’s cricket team to travel to Grenada and Barbados in 2011. The draw took place on Monday, December 20, 2010.

The second prize was won by Rafel Hoyte, of Sandy Bay. Hoyte received an HP laptop.

Members of the Police Force including Acting Commissioner of Police Bertie Pompey, ACP Lenroy Brewster and Public Relations Officer ASP Jonathon Nicholls, congratulated Thomas on winning the grand prize.

The next event to be held by the Police Force will be a Caroling Contest at the Central Police Station on Wednesday, December 29, 2010.
