Springer, who originated from Layou, but resided at Chester Cottage with his girlfriend Belinda “Little” Telfer and his one-year-old daughter Alinda Telfer, was on his way to the bus stop adjacent to the Peace Memorial Hall when he was gunned down.

Earlier that evening, he had taken Alinda to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) to visit Belinda, who was a patient there.

Belinda told SEARCHLIGHT that Springer left the hospital at approximately 10 p.m.

Reports claim that as he made his way to Frenches Gate with his daughter in his arms, a car drove alongside him and the sound of gun shots rang out.

Springer was left dead with a bullet to the hip and one to the back of his head.

His daughter was unharmed, and reports are that three men were seen entering the car following the shooting.

“I still feel bad,” said Belinda at her Chester Cottage home on Monday, December 13.

She said she received the dreaded news on the morning of Friday, December 10, when a friend called her to break the tragic news.

She said earlier that day she had heard people speaking about the shooting, “but I didn’t know it was him, because he said he was going to Leeward to sleep,” Belinda recalled.

“Additionally, some people were saying it was a woman who was killed. After my friend called and say it was my boyfriend who was killed, some patients were telling me not to study that because people make up things,” said Belinda.

Her fears proved to be true when other friends contacted her and confirmed the news.

Belinda said Stevon had a history of being on the wrong side of the law, but after they started a relationship three years ago, he spent most of the time trying to change.
