A release issued by the council on Wednesday stated: “As the election campaign period climaxes, Vincentians are asked to maintain high moral integrity and adhere to the code of conduct which was signed by the two major political parties here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Namely: the Unity Labour Party (ULP) and the New Democratic Party (NDP).”

“Therefore, persons are asked to honour their commitment and respect the codes under which the election is governed. Vincentians, please be mindful and respectful of each other’s political affiliations and views. Youths, you are advised to express your democratic franchise and participate in the election by casting your vote on Election Day, 13th December, 2010.

On behalf of the NYC, have a peaceful election.”
