Courts injects nurse with $7,000 cash

Registered Nurse Jacqueline Browne Hadaway is now $7,000 richer, thanks to Furniture and Appliance giants Courts.{{more}}

On Monday, the Fair Hall resident became the second person to win the company’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is At Courts’ Christmas promotion draw, held at the store in Kingstown.

Browne-Hadaway, a long time customer at Courts, screamed with excitement as she realized that she was this week’s grand prize winner, beating out two other eligible contestants in the process.

Under the watchful eye of a KPMG auditor, the finalists, who also included Cheryl Alexander of Lowmans Leeward and Mida Wilson Mason of Barrouallie were asked by Shevrell ‘Candyman’ McMillan to pick a number from one to three.

They were then asked to select the box with the corresponding number and open that box.

On opening the boxes, Browne Hadaway was greeting with the grand prize, while Alexander won $1,000 grocery and Wilson Mason walked away with a $500 Courts voucher.

An excited Browne Hadaway, after composing herself from tearful jubilation, said that she was thankful to Courts for the opportunity to earn some extra income for the holidays and encouraged other persons to be a part of the promotions.

The other winners also were thankful for their winnings, with Alexander saying that this is the first time she has won anything in her life, and is looking forward to using her grocery voucher.

Wilson Mason said that she never expected to win anything and was thankful for her prize, which she said will go a long way.

Marketing Executive Alexis John reminded shoppers that there are four more grand prize draws to take place with the next being on December 6.

He said that Courts has been raising the standard of living of its customers over the years.

“Rewarding our customers is a tradition; it’s what we do best.” John said.
