Held under the sub-theme “Healthy Food today, saves lives tomorrow”, the exhibition featured local fruits and vegetables such as limes, paw paw, oranges, tangerines, cabbages, carrots and breadfruit.

Acting principal of the SCSN Phedra Samuel told SEARCHLIGHT that the event, the second one of its kind, is done to expose the students to different fruits and vegetables which are grown locally.

The food for the exhibition was contributed by friends and family of the institution. After the exhibition, the foods were used as part of a feeding programme at the school. Samuel said that the foods are not sold.

World Food Day is celebrated on October 16 of each year. The theme for this year’s World Food Day is “United Against Hunger”.(OS)
