Women’s Council to hold series of Independence panel discussions

The National Council of Women will be holding a series of Panel Discussions as part of Independence Celebrations.{{more}}

The first Panel Discussion will be held in Barrouallie, tomorrow, Wednesday, October 20, from 9.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

The second event will be held in San Souci on Thursday, October 21, from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m., and the final discussion will take place at the UWI Open Campus Conference Room on Friday, October 22, from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

The Panel Discussions will trace the history of Women in Politics in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from 1957 to 2010.

Following a presentation on the subject by Silma McLean, 2nd Vice President of the Council, three respondents – Andrea Marshall, Modonna Corke and Carleen Marshall – will start the discussion by each profiling one of the following three female politicians: Ivy Joshua, Valcina Ash and Yvonne Francis Gibson.

The general public is invited to participate in these activities.
