This was done via a Change Management Workshop spearheaded by the Government of St.Vincent and the Grenadines.

The five day workshop concluded on Friday, October 15, at the Public Service Commissions Conference Room. The event was jointly funded by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Co-operation (CFTC) of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

The Public Service Commissions is aiming to transform the Public Service into a dynamic, efficient and principled organization capable of delivering quality service. To this end, Chief Personnel Officer, Tyrone Burke, said that participants should take proactive approaches when dealing with changes.

He added that change management procedures will bring profit and/or or benefit to an organization in the long run. Burke noted that changes in attitude and behaviour in personnel is necessary for this to occur. However, change must be realistic, achievable and measurable.

Girlyn Miguel, Minister of Education, stated that the workshop will equip participants with the fundamentals of change management skills. She said that change is rapid in the global environment and that participants should arm themselves with the requisite skills to successfully navigate this landscape.

The workshop was facilitated by Clemont Fraser of the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Co-operation (CFTC), Commonwealth Secretariat, London.
