Foster wins Digicel Supermarket Sweep
Last Wednesday, Foster and Lucy Saunders walked out of the Aunt Jobeâs Supermarket (Arnos Vale) with the invitation to come back anytime for EC$500 worth of groceries, free of cost.{{more}}
The coupleâs luck came as part of the sixth Digicel Aunt Jobeâs Supermarket Sweep Promotion, where persons are given an opportunity to win an EC$500 Shopping Spree.
Commenting after winning the competition on Wednesday, Foster said that he was, âvery elated and happy to win, as I know it will go a long way, especially around at this time of yearâ.
The businessman added, âI will like to thank the bigger better network Digicel.â His wife Lucy said that she will be using the shopping spree to top up on cereal and vegetables, among other things. The EC$500 shopping spree can be redeemed at any two of Aunt Jobeâs locations.
This is how Wednesdayâs competition went: Nola Craigg, Alford Gaymes and Foster Saunders were each given a shopping trolley and three minutes to accumulate EC$900 worth of groceries. They were to have a minimum amount of 30 items in their shopping cart. Foster came the closest with 34 items valued at EC$1246.43. Gaymes was second with 60 items adding up to EC$1658.33 while Craigg had some 40 items valued at EC$1717.11.
For taking part in the competition, Craigg and Gaymes were given EC$100 worth of phone credit.
On Wednesday, September 8, Lawyer Carla James became the first winner of the EC$500 shopping spree compliments Digicel and Aunt Jobeâs Supermarket, while Wednesday, September 15, saw Businessman Rudy Bailey taking the top spot. On Wednesday, September 22, Petrouchka Hills won, and on Wednesday, September 29, Johnathan Lewis won. On Wednesday, October 6, Estina Stewart could not make it, so she sent her friend Frances Browne who won the prize for her.
Last Wednesdayâs Digicel Aunt Jobeâs Supermarket Sweep Promotion was the sixth of nine shopping sprees that will be held every Wednesday at Aunt Jobeâs. Persons are entered in the competition by paying their post paid bill on time or topping up EC$20 or more. The event was witnessed by Digicelâs Marketing Manager Juno DeRoche, Marketing Executive Justin John and Supervisor at Aunt Jobeâs Mesi Harrington, among others.
The next shopping spree takes place on Wednesday, October 20. After the nine shopping sprees are over, there will be a grand finale with the nine winners coming up against each other for the chance to win EC$500 worth of groceries for a year.
