The six are: Rolien Nedd of the St. Joseph’s Convent, Lisa Lanferman of the St. Vincent Girls High School, Chezual Walker of the St. Vincent Grammar School, first time finalist of the West St. George Secondary – Lisa Hussein, Jemmel Williams of the Georgetown Secondary, and Atika Frankly of the Petit Bordel Secondary School.

Senior Education Officer for Secondary Schools, Carlton Hall, registered his Ministry’s disappointment at the turnout of schools in this years’ preliminaries, as only nine of the 24 secondary schools which were scheduled to participate in the Zonal Preliminaries turned up to the Preliminaries.

However, Chief Judge Theresa Daniel said that, “This did not in any way take away from the standard of the competition, but rather stymied the opportunities available for other students who did not participate through no fault of their own.”

The Finals will take place on Thursday, October 21, at 7:30 pm at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown and students are expected to debate the topic: “Is justice an elusive concept in St. Vincent and the Grenadines?”
