He said he also held discussions with Prime Minister of Tanzania, Mizengo Pinda, during which a framework was discussed to have a students’ exchange programme that would involve students from Tanzania receiving nursing, technical and teaching education in St.Vincent and the Grenadines, while Vincentians students will be offered scholarships to study at Tanzania’s renowned University Dar es Salaam.

“We get a lot and we are building relations with Africa. We have excellent facilities for Nursing Education, Teacher Education, and also Technical Education. We are not so poor that we can’t offer our African brothers and sisters some support ,” said Gonsalves, adding that it will not cost St.Vincent and the Grenadines “anything particularly significant.”

He said it’s a win-win situation.

Gonsalves disclosed that Camillo Gonsalves, St.Vincent and the Grenadines Ambassador to United Nations, initiated scholarship discussions with the Director General of Morocco’s Agency for International Cooperation and also with German officials, including the Ambassdor of Germany and the Vice President of Government Affairs of Siemens “a massive energy and engineering conglomerate.”(HN)
