Tears for Kellishaw
Pink was the colour for many who attended the funeral of Vincentian Kellishaw Kamara Ollivierre, who was one of six victims of the Campus Trendz fire on September 3 in Barbados.{{more}}
Lying in a baby pink casket on Tuesday at the River Road New Testament Church, Ollivierre was a picture of peace.
Most family members attired themselves in pink, and could not hold back the tears for the life of one 23-year-old who had gone to soon.
Tributes for the 23-year-old also brought those attending the service to tears.
Ollivierreâs cousin Damani Jack broke down in tears as he recalled all the Friday evenings they had spent together. Jack said he and Kellishaw were almost inseparable, but as fate would have it, he did not visit her at the store on that particular Friday.
Her brother Jimell Ollivierre, who rushed to comfort Jack, said he had spoken to his sister just hours before the dreadful incident. He recalled his sister as a loving person, who affectionately called him âPeanutâ.
A moving solo by Petrelle Went caused more tears to flow, as she poured out her heart in No More Nights. The song speaks of no more pain, no more tears, never crying again and also tells of those for whom God has prepared âa mansionâ.
Others who also perished in the fire are Shanna Griffith, Nikkita Belgrave, Tiffany Harding, Kelly-Ann Welch and Pearl Amanda Cornelius.
Kellishawâs body will be flown to her St Vincent homeland, where it will be interred.
