British Navy recruiter coming to SVG

Vincentians desirous of joining the British Navy will no longer have to travel to England, according to advisor to the Prime Minister, Sir Vincent Beache, as he addressed a gathering at Orange Hill on Sunday, September 5, at a political rally of the Unity Labour Party.{{more}}

Beache said he returned to the state from England last Sunday where negotiations were held to have recruiters return to these shores to select persons.

In the past, many Navy hopefuls faced challenges in paying for airline tickets and finding a place of abode. Beache noted that when the Army and Navy came here in the past as part of their recruiting process, it was too expensive on the recruiters’ part.

“It is already negotiated that they (Vincentians) do not have to go to England for them to select you. They will be coming here,” Beache revealed.

He said Cabinet has agreed to pay the expenses to accommodate the selectors. (KW)
