The project is a collaborative effort between the Curriculum Unit within the Ministry of Education and the Science Teachersâ Association (STA) with the intention of ensuring that science students have access to the materials that would facilitate the practical aspect of learning science, this according to Juanita King, President of the STA.
âChildren need that practical experience, they need to see and I think the kits will be very helpful in achieving this,â King told SEARCHLIGHT.
She also explained that the other objective of the project was to let science teachers across the country be aware that the association was now active after a brief period of dormancy.
Each kit contains basic science related materials, which according to King are those that most science laboratories most
often lack, or what teachers may have specifically requested from previous interactions.
The kit includes iodine solution, beakers, measuring cylinders, wooden splints, sodium hydroxide among other things. (DD)
