Vincentian shot dead in New York

A Vincentian man living in New York was shot and killed Monday night.{{more}}

SEARCHLIGHT understands that Morris “Garlic” Straker, 51, formerly of Vermont, was killed outside his apartment in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

Reports indicate that Straker received three shots to the head.

It is believed that he was ambushed as he opened the gate on the way to his basement apartment.

SEARCHLIGHT understands that Straker had had a dispute with a youth in his neighbourhood.

Information reaching SEARCHLIGHT indicates that neighbours found an unresponsive Straker on the ground after hearing shots in the Riverdale and Legion Street area.
