US Peace Corps, Rush Night Club to host ‘Pieces of Peace’ artshow

On Thursday, September 9, 2010, the United States Peace Corps, in connection with Rush Nightclub, will be hosting “Pieces of Peace,” an evening of open mic poetry, music, art and drama shared by Vincentians and other community members.{{more}}

“Pieces of Peace” will start at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Rush Nightclub, located at Upper Middle Street in Kingstown, and will commemorate peace and what it means to each person. There will be a number of artists exhibiting their work, poets presenting their literature, and musicians performing. Admission is free and open to the public. There will be opportunity for those attending to showcase their talents and convey their definition of peace.

U.S. Peace Corps is an organization that sends volunteers around the world to live and work in local communities in different areas from AIDS education to NGO development. There are currently 19 Peace Corps Volunteers and 11 Trainees based in St. Vincent, working in the sectors of youth development and NGO development.
