The one-year-old non-profit organization, which is made up of persons who grew up in the Buccament/Vermont area, has pledged to assist and support residents in their academic, artistic, sporting, vocational and other healthy pursuits.

Among the awards to be handed out are best Common Entrance performance, best CSEC results, as well as Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year. A laptop valued at $3,000 is among the prizes to be awarded at the ceremony, and winners in each category will also receive a plaque.

HOPE is encouraging the public to put up their nominations for the awards ceremony and dinner which will be held on Friday, October 22, at the Golden Years Activity Centre at Cane Grove.

To help fund its objectives, the non-profit organization in August held a fundraising barbecue at the Penniston Community Centre. At the event, the 12 successful Common Entrance students from the Buccament Government School were given school bags filled with stationery. The presentation of a desktop and a projector was earlier made to the Headteacher of the Buccament Government School, Artis Robinson.

HOPE Foundation is made up of young people living in St Vincent and the Grenadines and in the Diaspora.
