Gonsalves made the disclosure on Thursday, August 26, at a political meeting at Calder.
âI have drafted a letter and I will send it out on Monday to the people of the Caribbean and to every leader of the CARICOM member states to say to them that the New Democratic Party has involved former colonialists from Britain and those who have no interest in our country, like the Tea Party activists who fighting Obama who is trying to help the black people in America.
âThe NDP has alligned itself with the colonialists, the Tea Party types, who are against Obama to try to bring down the Government of St.Vincent and the Grenadines and to defame us,â said Gonsalves.
Gonsalves noted that to say there is no democracy, freedom and civil liberties in St.Vincent and the Grenadines is a âdastardly lieâ.
He stated that he is writing the people of the Caribbean to expose the NDPâs actions because they, the Opposition, are seeking to shame Vincentians.
âImagine that a campaign, five American dollars from each person to save democracy. Eh?â said Gonsalves as he commented on a campaign launched in the United States by the NDP, called âSave Democracy for just $5â.
âWe cannot go to the United States of America and contribute to any campaign in America. It is against the Federal Law, but the same Americans including those who have come to our country as our guests, not as citizens, are going about asking everyone of them on the Internet for five dollars,â said Gonsalves.
On Sunday, August 22, at the launch of the ULPâs political campaign at Mt.Bentick, Gonsalves produced documents showing that the NDP has affiliated itself with a multi-millionaire, who has launched a campaign in the United States against the ULP administration.
United States businessman, Dave Copps, who has a home in Bequia, has been identified as one of the persons that the NDP has established relations with for the project.
The ULP political leader noted that based on information he had in his possession, Copps is in the business of earning money through providing information and technology and had done work for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). He also identified Blake Borris, a US businessman, as another individual that has teamed up with the NDP.
