Suma Fest summer programme gets going in North Leeward

The next three weeks promise to be exciting times for the youth of the North Leeward community who will be involved in the second annual Suma Fest summer programme.{{more}}

The programme, organized by Hott Vibes Promotion, headed by Stuart ‘Rudy’ Louie, begins tomorrow, Saturday, August 7, and is expected to run until Saturday, August 28, with activities taking place at the Petit Bordel Playing Field, Chateaubelair, Richmond, Fitz Hughes, Troumaca, Cumberland and Dark View.

Activities include sporting events such as football, netball, athletics, table tennis, lawn tennis and basketball, nature hikes to La Soufriere volcano and Palmyra.

Steel pan playing, drumming, arts and craft and Maypole dancing are also on the list of activities.

The participants will also be involved in a number of clean up campaigns of beaches in the area.

At the August 28 closing of the programme, the youngsters will be presented with certificates of participation and school supplies, and will be entertained with music, face painting and bouncing castles.

This is the second year the Suma Fest summer programme is taking place.
