St Hill DaSilva, owner of Hills Mini-Mart in Campden Park, was on July 30, 2010, robbed of over $8,000 when four masked men rushed his mini-mart shortly after 8:15pm.
Speaking to SEARCHLIGHT on Monday afternoon from his bed at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, DaSilva said that there is too much lawlessness going on in St Vincent and something needs to be done before it spirals out of control.
âIt is time for law officials to step up and round up these criminals….we canât let things go on this way,â DaSilva stated.
He added that more businesses are growing in St Vincent and criminals are taking note. âI think there should be some method in place where you can better protect the lives of business people in this country…,â he said.
DaSilvaâs brother, Sentino DaSilva, who was also at the mini-mart at the time of the robbery, was robbed of $2,500 and cut about his head, face and right hand with a broken bottle by the assailants.
Up to press time on Wednesday, no arrests had been made. Investigations are continuing. (KW)
