Gen-X fashion show returns

Hoping to become an annual addition to the local calendar of cultural events, the GenX Fashion Show has returned to showcase the creative talent of St. Vincent & the Grenadines’ youth.{{more}}

This year it will take place at the Haddon Hotel Grassroots Tennis Court at Murray’s Road, on Saturday, July 31, 2010.

The show’s producer, Karen DeFreitas-Fraser, has high aspirations for the event.

“GenX is hoped to be the vehicle through which the youth can positively express their creativity and achieve the level of exposure necessary for public appreciation of their work,” she said, in a press release.

With a 7:30 pm kick-off, the fashion show will feature designs by Silky Ruff (Jeremy Payne), Shernicia Mayers, Flavorz (Crystal Daniel), Nat-Ur Mod (Sherika Sayers), IJazz Fashions, Godwin Charles, Christal Oliver, and SoKa (Karen DeFreitas-Fraser).

A specially-featured segment, ‘Next Generation Designers’, will unveil the efforts of never-before-seen designers.

Tamisha Nicholls, Arabesque Dance Group and Groundbreaker Dancers will also perform.
