Driver, passenger escape accident without injuries

Lenford Veira, owner and driver of the van ‘Confidence’, said that he was extremely grateful that he and the single passenger got away with no serious injuries following the crash that occurred along the public road in Diamond last Tuesday, July 20.{{more}}

Veira said that he was making his way into town shortly after 5 p.m. when the vehicle’s rear started sliding, forcing the front towards a wall on the left side of the road.

“I tried to correct and pulled the van right and it spun around and then hit the wall,” he explained.

Veira complained of pain in the head and right hand and said that the passenger had given him (Veira) the assurance that he was okay.

Veira was also grateful that he was wearing his seatbelt.

“The seatbelt held me up and prevented me from dropping on top of the passenger and causing any serious injury,” he contended. (DD)
