PM returned as candidate for North Central Windward

Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Political Leader of the Unity Labour Party (ULP), has been recommended as his Party’s candidate for the North Central Windward constituency.{{more}}

Gonsalves received the endorsement at the ULP’s North Central Windward Constituency Conference on Sunday, July 11, 2010.

“I feel very honoured, deeply honoured, and thankful to the people of North Central,” said Gonsalves to SEARCHLIGHT

He said the ULP is in the process of candidate selection for the upcoming General Elections.

Gonsalves has been the Area Representative for North Central Windward since 1994, winning the seat in a coalition between the ULP and the Movement for National Unity (MNU).

On a ULP ticket, he has successfully won the seat in the 1998, 2001 and 2005 General Elections.

Gonsalves was elected Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on March 28, 2001, and Political Leader of the ULP on December 6, 1998. Prior to his election, he was Opposition Leader from October 1, 1999, to 2001. (HN)
