Eli Hamilton passes on
He will be remembered most for friendly, outgoing personality and his invaluable contribution to his church and workplace.{{more}}
Eli Hamilton, of Cemetery Hill, Kingstown, passed away at his residence on Monday, July 12, 2010, after a brief illness. He was described by his friends as a friendly, hardworking individual.
Camille Wilson, wife of Pastor Gevandeen Wilson of the Hope For Life Restoration Ministries church at Arnos Vale, described Hamilton as a principled, no nonsense person who enjoyed singing as a part of the church choir or as a soloist. A member of the church for nine years, he was also the protocol officer and a part of the Menâs Ministry department. He was also a dancer and assisted in vocal training.
Educator Philbert John, an old friend of Hamilton, remembers him from their time as members of the cadet corps back in the 70s. John expressed that Hamilton always had a friendly attitude and was a âdapperâ dresser.
Hamilton had been employed at the The Bank of Nova Scotia for 31years and held several posts during his time there, including Teller, Consumer Credit Interview Clerk, Assistant Manager of Consumer Credit, Account Officer and Assistant Manager of Small Businesses.
Kwame Mascoll, of Scotia Bank, also remembers Hamilton as an excellent dancer and singer. Mascoll added that he was very dedicated to his work. Commercial Banking Manager, Serge LâAritain, described Hamilton as a person who seemed to be well appreciated by members of the community. He also agreed that he was very dedicated to his work, adding that his faith never wavered, even as he approached death.
Hamiltonâs funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Faith Temple Church in New Montrose at 3 pm. The burial will take place at the Kingstown Cemetery. Hamilton was 51 years old at the time of his death. (OS)
