Fresh Face for Fashion Caribbean

Kuumba Designs, the design label of Queen Esther was conceptualized to create and capture the essence of men and womens’ happiness, joy and achievements.

Queen Esther has proven herself to be a master of the arts. Her work can be seen in She Magazine, Yoo Magazine, Ins & Out Magazine, NY Factio Magazine, Fashion TV Runway news.com, CF Style Magazine, Islands of the World Fashion Week and Caribbean Fashion Awards to name a few.

Queen Esther’s latest collection was inspired by the need to employ the women in St Lucia, who have the potential to create handcrafted designs and also to create an awareness on eco-friendliness.

A creative mixture of fabrics; silks, linens, chiffon, handmade crochet cotton details to accentuate some of the most beautiful designs created on the island of St Lucia symbolizes the work of one of the region’s leading designers.

Creating a product which is different from the rest, Queen Esther’s collection has won best new product and product line at the Caribbean Gift and Craft Show in 2008.

Kuumba Designs was St Lucia’s top designer for 2008 and 2009 and was also nominated in 2009 at the Caribbean Fashion Awards for the best female Caribbean designer.
