Julien, speaking to customers and well wishers at the first anniversary cocktail party at the Grenadine House last Friday, said that when the company decided to expand in the region, the top country that came to mind was St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He said that the countryâs human resources were a determining factor in bringing one of the regionâs most respected financial institutions here.
âWe looked at St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the sense of a community; a great sense of pride and well managed principles, and we look at the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a people who are well educated, diligent, and hard working and continue to meet the expectations that are set for them.â
He admitted that like any other business, CMMB St. Vincent and the Grenadines was affected by the global financial crisis, but that crisis would soon be overcome.
Featured speaker Errol Allen, former Deputy Director of the East Caribbean Central Bank, in congratulating the company on its first anniversary, also highlighted that the global economy is poised for recovery, and that CMMB had made a move to this country at an opportune time.
Allen urged those in attendance to embrace the future by finding alternative ways to address the new financial challenges that were being faced, and noted that CMMB was one such alternative.
âThatâs why fresh ways of thinking about contemporary problems are necessary. The challenge now is to infuse the process of organizing with the spirit of imagination that takes us beyond bureaucratic boxes.â
During the past year, CMMB has hosted a number of lectures and seminars, including 12 seminars on Intelligent Investment; The 2010 Budget Review; Pension Funds Management, and a series of school visits, during which students were lectured on financial literacy.
The local branch of the company, which is situated at Beachmont, is managed by Norlan Gabriel, who is assisted by Client Relations Officer Jonell Davis and Operations Administrative Officer Alma Richardson.
Other branches of the Trinidad based company are in St. Lucia and Barbados.
