At a town hall meeting in Calliaqua last week Thursday evening, Sir James said some people are calling for women to enter politics but he was concerned about this.

“Who woman goes into politics when she is between twenty-eight and forty?” Sir James asked the large gathering.

“She better lucky if she has her children before she getting in. How is she going to look after family and children and all those kinds of thing?” questioned Sir James who formed the New Democratic Party over three decades ago and served this country as Prime Minister for almost 17 years.

He also made an appeal for the poor to be given a chance to enter politics.

“We only want people with professions and we only want people with money…What kind of country is that?” stated Sir James.(HN)
