Curtains come down on Digicel Gospel Fest Zonal Showcases this weekend

The 2008 Digicel SVG Gospel Fest Zonal Showcases will climax this weekend with performances in six zones around the country.{{more}}

The Kingstown Zone, which is into its third week of showcases, will feature two nights of presentations at the Peace Memorial Hall. On Friday night there will be close to 20 performances in poetry, monologue, choral speech, mime, and sermonette. On Saturday, four short plays will be presented.

The North Windward zone will have their dance and drama showcase at the Bethel Gospel Assembly in Georgetown on Sunday evening, while the Marriaqua zone will have performances in song, dance and drama evening at the Streams of Power, Carriere Church on Friday evening.

The South Leeward zone will see performances in drama, dance and choirs at the Kingdom Life Ministries in Kearton’s on Saturday evening, and music and song at the Vermont Miracle Tabernacle Church on Sunday evening.

The North Leeward zone will have their showcase at the Spring Village Primary School on Friday evening with all categories being presented. While the South Windward zone will conclude with performances in all categories at the Hope For Life Restoration Ministries in Arnos Vale on Sunday evening.

The zonal gospel showcases are a prelude to the National Gospel Showcases which will see the most outstanding performances appearing on stage at Victoria Park on May 1st and 2nd complemented by international gospel artiste Kim Arthur of Canada and Bishop Tudor of Zimbabwe with the ministry of the Word.

SVG Gospel Fest, which is now into its eight year, is being celebrated under the theme: “Declare God’s Praises in the Islands”.
