Ruby Chambers, Administrative Officer of the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society, expressed thanks to the Coast Guard for the initiative.

Chambers noted the Coast Guard’s contribution is timely.

“Haiti is in dire need of a lot of stuff. Right now they are thinking about getting building materials and food stuff and so on,” said Chambers.

Leading Seaman David Lewis, making the presentation on behalf of the Coast Guard, said his organization is dedicated to saving lives. He explained that this is demonstrated by their commitment not only on sea but here in St.Vincent and the Grenadines and the wider world.

Lewis, who was joined by Sub Lieutenant Enos Hamlett, in making the presentation, said the Coast Guard is happy to extend a helping hand.
