At a special Appreciation Service on Saturday, March 13, 2010, seven persons were honoured for their contribution.

The awardees were Rocina Cambridge, Shirley Hadley, Walter Nanton, Benny Nanton, Clifton Spring, Helon Sutton and Lester Richards. All of these persons, with the exception of Hadley, worked with the Georgetown Town Board for over 50 years. Hadley worked as a cook at the Georgetown Hospital until her retirement ten years ago. They all served their community with distinction and pride.

Delivering the feature address Pastor Chan Nichols highlighted the importance of expressing gratitude to others.

“Too often flowers are never given while individuals are alive and can be appreciative of thoughtful gestures, but are left until loved ones have passed. “Give the flowers now”, he stated.

The programme was held at the Georgetown Seventh Day Adventist Church and commenced at 4:15 p.m.

All the awardees received gift baskets. Community Services Leader Veronica Anderson expressed heartfelt thanks to all those who made the progamme successful.
