Twenty nine students from the UJAMAA or Corporate Economics group, one of the five groups in the school, accompanied by owner of the school Joel Woodley, parents Mr Solomon and Henry, Mrs Hinds and Sergeant and teachers Lucinda Hadaway, Allison Williams, Alicia Thomas and Supervisor Dorris Hope arrived at the state-owned National Commercial Bank (SVG) Ltd. at 9.30 a.m. prepared to deposit their contribution in the “HAITI RELIEF FUND”.

Cheryl Rodriguez, PRO, and Lidia Stephens, Senior Marketing Officer of NCB, met the group at the bank and served them snacks in the staff lunchroom and also posed with them for a photoshoot.

The donation represents funds raised from one of the school’s several annual fund-raising events and is usually made to various charities.

On February 5, 2010, the UJAMAA Fathers were invited to spend one hour at the school with their children and participate in the sale of refreshments for this fund. The school has made similar donations annually to the elderly in New Montrose and the Salvation Army.

Rodriguez, on behalf of The National Commercial Bank (SVG) Ltd., congratulated the Management and staff of the IMANI PRE-SCHOOL for educating their students in financial matters at such an early age, by encouraging them to be thrifty, to save, to share and become involved in community activities.
